Where are you from?

For our first challenge we want to know about your country. What you like, maybe even what you don't like! Are there things about your country that are typical? Certain things that immediately identify it? Tell us all! Here are our layouts. You can click on them to see them larger for details and journaling.

~Kellie~
I am Canadian, and very happy to be.
I didn't really have a picture of myself that I wanted to use, so I chose this candy apple picture, which I got during Canada Day. I don't like white chocolate but heck I'm patriotic when it comes to Canada. Am happy to live in such a free country.

Post a link to your layout by November 10th. We will pick a random participant to win two Dream Street paper collections donated by Nathalie! Thanks Nat!

Bonjour de France!

Hi,

my name is Mélanie. I am 25 years old and I'm a scrapbooker for 4 years. I was born in Paris, in France, and I lived there always. I like walking in Paris, I find this so beautiful and so surprising city. I have no husband, no kids, but lots of friends that I like!

I scrapbook all the sizes, but I have a weak for the 8.5x11 landscape. Usually, I scrapbook on my desk and it is often the mess. I like particularly the lively colors, as well on the papers as on the photos. It’s a little my way to put colors in the life. I like the graphic and contrasted layouts. The scrap is an addiction for me because and so I manage best to express myself and to highlight my feelings. I am inspired by my daily life for scrapbooking.
It’s an honor for me to represent my country and make you share my perspectives.
Mélanie

Schöne Grüße aus Hamburg

Hi all from the country of weird letters like ü,ö,ä,ß. My name is Nat, I'm 34 years old and I live with my American husband and our funny cat in Hamburg, Germany.

I have studied law for a while ;-) and I'm working as a paralegal in an office that mostly deals with refugees for humanitarian and political reasons. I scrapbook for 3 years now and it became a way to not only restore special moments and memories but also a way to give my feelings and emotions a creative voice.

My main focus in my work is on techniques - I love to incorporate all kinds of techniques- mostly with paint and other mediums in my work. I get often pretty messy - but I love it.

I love that Scrapbooking connects us across borders and gender and I can't wait to see all the different or maybe even same perspectives from around the world!

Josh

Hello to all who will join us on this journey!

My name is Josh. I am 26yrs old. I live in the U.S.
The furthest I have traveled out of the country is Puerto Rico,
I hope to change that one day!
Happily married to the love of my life, Amber of almost 3 years. We have to furbabies, Roxy and Harley.
My wife has been a scrappbooker for a couple of years now,
and I decided to join in the fun, from time to time.
I love doing art in Photoshop and love photography!
Art and photography have become a great release for me,
as I am in college full-time and working as well!
I am seeking a degree in Psychology and Multicultural Studies.
I hope to work with youth in Church or Para-Church organizations!

I look forward to hearing all the perspectives
of the many different people around the world.
So take a step beside us and walk on this journey called life!

Wha' go on?

Now you know how to say "Hey, what's up?" like a Grenadian! I am originally from Grenada, a tiny island in the West Indies, but now live in France with my husband Lucas and our two cats Mozaique and Naala. I am very excited to be part of this blog because I love Kellie's idea! I have been scrapping since late 2001, and scrapping obsessively since 2005. I was so happy to finally find a medium to express myself artistically. I love beautiful papers like BasicGrey, and enjoy techniques like inking and stamping. I love getting my fingers (and clothes) messy with paint and other media. I am as yet undecided on my scrapping style since I will try just about anything once! For me versatility is key! I get my inspiration from everyday things, like my favourite summer skirt, or my coffee mug. I enjoy sharing my work online and meeting other scrappers through message boards, and I am an avaricious blog reader. I'm looking forward to meeting many of you through our challenges, and making this a truly global experience!

Kellie's Bio

Hi there, I’m Kellie, born and raised in Beautiful British Columbia. I reside on Vancouver Island with my hubby of almost 13 years.
I have had many adventures in my life, such as going away to college, getting married, living overseas, all in which really taught me about life, and brought the creativity in me.

Actually have always been creative since I was a child, and would write short stories and poetry, make my own doll clothes, and act in plays and mimes.

I found scrap booking thru my older sister about 7 years ago, and really got more dedicated 5 years ago.
I love trying new techniques, whether it be to burn my paper (yes did this with only one major running to the washroom to put the paper fire out!)…painting, stitching, inking etc…

My style is ever changing. I don’t think I could stick with just one particular style, I am constantly trying new techniques, different ways to express my creativity.

I enjoy taking pictures and figure a, “good picture” is a key part of any layout. I write lots of my own poetry that goes into my work. I look at scrapbooking as my “art” and a great “creative outlet” as well being “great therapy” at times.

~Perspectives~

Hi there!
I guess you could call me the "girl behind ~perspectives~! :)
This is Kellie by the way, if we haven't met, welcome.
I had this idea before summer came, and thought it would be a great
blog idea. To have scrappers from all over the globe talking about
topics in their own, ~perspectives~.
Let's face it, we all have our own personalities, the way we do things in our countries.
So why not scrap about it? Why not go into our personal ~Perspectives~
Sure some of it will do with personal experience and some due to our global up-bringing.
We will be posting a challenge every Month and would love for you to join us in this new venture!
So with that I would like to welcome you all!!! :)
